Ship's compass
- made by Robert Kruse,
Stralsund, circa 1860; width 22 cm
Besides the sextant, the compass is the most important navigation device on board ocean-going vessels. This smaller model belonged to Bruno Niemann, a captain from Prerow. The magnetic compass is gimbal-mounted and installed in a wooden case.
