The University of Greifswald is well endowed under the patronage of its Swedish rulers, building a cultural and scientific bridge across the Baltic Sea.
The Pädagogium in Stettin closes in 1667 due to insufficient student numbers. The Regnum Gymnasium Carolinum – the royal grammar school – is founded in its place.
